another favorite...the mexican war streets. my favorite set of streets in the city. my sister actually introduced me to them during her first visit here right after we moved. i love walking them and escaping behind the lens. the homes are eye candy sprinkled with such history! enjoy the feast on your eyes...

every home is unique and different from the next. the doors here are very popular and you can find artists selling snapshots and compilations of these doors down on the strip.

so long sweet summer

june!? was it really JUNE that i last updated this little o'le blog? sad. we had a wonderful summer! we left in JUNE for texas and stayed until AUGUST. it was such a special time spent with family and friends.

we are so grateful that our parents were up to hosting us for 2 months! we cherished the time were were able to spend together!

we fit a lot into that amount of time...among it all a few birthday parties {even my little buckaroo's!...yes 3 months early...i didn't want this to be the only year he didn't have our families at his party!}...

and dr. daddy's brother's wedding!

its safe to say we also saw just about every big city in the state this trip! we were on the road a lot!

ctc had MANY "firsts" while we were in texas...among the many...

the temps in texas this year were a scorching and consistent hover around 105...some might say we were crazy for fleeing the gorgeous PA summer to sweat it out in the TX heat. for starters...we head south to see family every chance we get. secondly...i now know i can survive those heat waves again. {yes, i had some doubt}. my little buckaroo was such a trooper with the heat too...completely unfazed and wanted OUTSIDE all.the.time!

and as a completely off-subject side note...hubby surprised me GRAND this birthday and got me an iPad {see the sheer excited shock!}...i didn't even know how to work it! i have quickly learned...and she and i are bffs! is he not oh so thoughtful! although, i feel i could be a better blogger if there was a good "app for that"! any suggestions on a good blog app? its like fighting the tide to try and write a post and insert pictures on my ipad! am i doing something wrong?
