a day in the life of a household coordinator...
I awoke this morning...no...I was jolted out of bed by the smoke alarm {quickly followed by barking yorkies}. What!?! no fire, no smoke...just a yakking alarm! errr! Now...we have an extremely sensitive alarm...not really sure why, but half the time I cook something in the oven it sets off the squawking...forcing us to open all the doors...in the dead of winter!
anyways....beep...beep.beep...back to the beeping today...
I called the main office in our neighborhood. Solution...needs new batteries. All 3 of them...because they are ALL going off? Well...this is all well in good except that it takes the rectangle battery AND I am without a car today. I mean who has the 9 volts laying around the house! Well with hubby in surgery {all day} I had to surrender to the fact that this would linger all day!
between the constant yakking of the alarm and the terrified and crying yorkies...I couldn't take it much longer. So by 11:00am I called Meg to see if she and Madeline would like to come and play...and bring batteries!!!
thank you thank you thank you so much Meg!!! I am soo grateful!!
So the lesson...always, always, always have 9 volt batteries on hand! It might just be vital for you too one day...and you might find yourself without a dear friend to save the day beeping!

ummm...ashley dear- you could have taken all the batteries OUT so you did not have to listen to the beeping :)
We had the same problem with an alarm we had off of our living room. It was sooooo sensitive and always going off. It ran through batteries like they were chocolate too! It was not an old alarm - two years old? Finally we realized that the beeping it was making meant it had to be replaced. It was disfunctional! Now we have a new one up and it is just normal...no sensitive mood swings or eating through batteries. Maybe you just need a new one?
oh no poor thing!
my friends fire alarms startied beeping because the batteries were dead so they took put the batteries but they still kept beeping. they had to rip them out of the ceiling to get them to stop!!!
