they're married!!!

hello friends! its been a busy last 2 months {as i warned}...and its not quite over! one of the highlights of our busi-ness and travels was my sister's wedding in february! i thought you all might like a sneak peek of a truly gorgeous day!

rant edward and krystal kathleen married on saturday, february 27th, 2010! way off the beaten path of tyler, texas at a little plantation on the steps of a tiny chapel. it was sun shine skies, gorgeous grounds, and a pleasant, but at times chilling breeze. it was perfect!

very last detail of the bride was "so krystal"! from the vintage brooch on her dress, the handmade silk ruffled jacket she and mom designed to keep those shoulders warm, the peacock blue shoes adorned with her own touch...vintage shoe clips, to the feather plumed headpiece she made herself, and the chic veil that swept her face {also created by her}, to the vintage earrings i knew she had to have...when i spotted them in my jewelry box...all the way to the gorgeous rings on her fingers!!!

ou can say the same for her dashing groom! grant looked wonderful and most obvious was his contagious smile! he got his girl!! and those fabulous cowboy boots...his gift from the bride! can you tell they have a "thing" for shoes!

any tears were shed as the bride walked down the aisle. there is something so raw and sheerly {yep! made that word up...i think!} sweet about a groom crying at the sight of his bride and the thought of her becoming his wife. the ceremony was small {just as they wanted it}, intimate, and just the right size...it was so perfect, heartfelt, and personal.

or now they are husband and wife! six years waiting...mr. and mrs.! marriage looks good on these two! so many congratulations krystal and grant! your day was gorgeous! i hope all the memories of today flood your hearts on the rough days and make you smile when you are grey...because it was perfect...and so very "you"!! we were so excited to be a part of your special day and are so anxious to watch you grow even more together! we love you!

one year ago

one year ago today...we found out our baby was on the way!

what a precious gift. an amazing miracle. and a blessed year. we are so thankful that God chose us to be his and may we raise him so that he may return the praise for the Lord.

mirrors and mommy

for those of you who stop by my little bloggity for lovelies other than my handsome boy...one of these days i will get back to crafts and fab finds...at least my mom says i will! a bit after the little mister boy was born i walked into my studio and felt so overwhelmed. i looked at my mom and wondered if i would ever be interested or have the time for it again...she says i will. i'm going to venture to guess though that it won't be until i at least get to wash my hair AND flat iron it on a regular basis {i've given up that i'll ever make it to step 3 again of curling it}! yep...glory be...its washed but not flat ironed or curled in these pictures...don't judge...that much was worth praise!

my little mister boy loves mirrors! when he was a week or so old i realized that he heard how handsome he was on a daily basis...multiple daily basis...and i thought he should get to see for himself! so i would take him to the mirror and show him how precious he was! he loves to look in the mirror...it just makes him grin so big...so big!!

half the time i wonder if that grin is so big because behind him he sees mommy lookin' rough because she most likely didn't get dressed for the day!

checking out his shoes that already fit...his chi chi shoes! thanks aunt chi chi! he loves them! i can't believe they already fit...but daddy and all his uncles have "big" feet so he was bound to have them too...he does!

there are some very special clothes in our little mister boy's closet. a few of them are ones that his uncle austin and uncle dallas wore...this is one of them...

we are so in love with this little man! he has so many littles faces and sweet expressions...

ps...just realized in the true nick of time i got 2 posts in this month! woo hoo!! miss you friends!

maternity leave

happy thanksgiving! merry christmas! and i hope your 2010 is off to a blessed start! does that about cover everything i missed during my maternity leave? :) ...i hardly think so! i hope each of you had wonderful holidays and that life is treating you kindly!

thank you all for your warmest welcome on our little mister boy's arrival and introduction and for your "are you ok"..."we miss you" emails and comments! we had a rough start. he is and has been so very healthy and for that we are more than blessed and so grateful, but at 2.5 weeks we had an unwelcomed visitor...reflux......hence my absence. if you've "been there done that" then that would be enough said! ;) at his most painful the poor guy was at the point that he cried/screamed 30-45 min. after e-v-e-r-y feeding. we are thankful that we finally have found a therapy that works for him...and now at 3 months are beginning to get into a routine. it is more than gut-wrenching to watch your baby endure such agony.

he is such a happy baby with such an infectious smile and we are loving learning more and more about him! i hope you are each doing well and i hope to catch up...i can't promise a return to blogging as i have many projects on the horizon through march...but i think i can at least post once a month!
