"the girl's room"

my parents still live in the same house i was brought home from the hospital to. the front room was first my nursery, then i invited sister in and we shared it for years until she left home, then it was solo mine again, then i married my man and it changed hands again. now...its back to the "girl's room" as we have always called it. and my handsome and i stayed in it this trip.

many times as a little girl playing "baby dolls" i dreamed of becoming a mommy. seeing the mister playing & sleeping in the room that i grew up in, played in, dreamed in...its very real and surreal and dream-like all at the same time for me.

many dreams, many years of wanting and then getting old enough to realize that not everyone is able to have children...my wanting turned to longing...and then when the time was right for our family...my longing turned to hoping that we'd be blessed with a child. and we were. my mind still has a hard time wrapping and realizing that it happened...and he's here. and its as if he always has been. in a way he has...he has always been in my dreams that started in that very room!

another one hitched

2/3 of us got to head to texas for my brother's wedding in early june. dr. hubby couldn't get away to make the trip. it was a gorgeous day on the lake and this sister cried real tears. his bride got the best they come! we trained this one well!

seven months...already

my dapper dude is getting so big....growing so fast...full of such personality...and a TOOTH! i love this baby more than...more than it all! God sure gives amazing gifts when he makes girls into mommas!

a lovely day just being mommy

morning dances in bed, 2 hour naps, a cherry limeade, and the cutest little baby boy to call mine! its so nice to be home! we have been traveling {for pleasure and for work} since the middle of february. some of those travels meant time apart from dr. daddy and my little mister...and some meant all 3 of us were in separate states! i give so many kudos to you working mommies out there...what strength, commitment and true master jugglers you must be! bless you! so many thanks to my dear momma for keeping the little mister while i was traveling...and to my sweet mil for traveling to PA to help out as well! we are blessed! we are now enjoying being home and getting back into a routine. which hopefully means as soon as my to-list begins to dwindle i'll be back to blogging!!! missed you friends!

one of my favorite things as a mother is something so unexpected...its when nothing particularly special is going on and it hits me so clearly and completely without warning...chills come over me...he's mine, he's finally here, he knows i'm his, and one day he'll call me mommy. its as if my mind is one step closer each time in soaking in and fathoming the enormity of this blessing! i've waited a very long time to know what being mommy would be like and who that little person would be to create that job in me...and he's here, he's finally here. and he's more than i imagined. much more!

they're married!!!

hello friends! its been a busy last 2 months {as i warned}...and its not quite over! one of the highlights of our busi-ness and travels was my sister's wedding in february! i thought you all might like a sneak peek of a truly gorgeous day!

rant edward and krystal kathleen married on saturday, february 27th, 2010! way off the beaten path of tyler, texas at a little plantation on the steps of a tiny chapel. it was sun shine skies, gorgeous grounds, and a pleasant, but at times chilling breeze. it was perfect!

very last detail of the bride was "so krystal"! from the vintage brooch on her dress, the handmade silk ruffled jacket she and mom designed to keep those shoulders warm, the peacock blue shoes adorned with her own touch...vintage shoe clips, to the feather plumed headpiece she made herself, and the chic veil that swept her face {also created by her}, to the vintage earrings i knew she had to have...when i spotted them in my jewelry box...all the way to the gorgeous rings on her fingers!!!

ou can say the same for her dashing groom! grant looked wonderful and most obvious was his contagious smile! he got his girl!! and those fabulous cowboy boots...his gift from the bride! can you tell they have a "thing" for shoes!

any tears were shed as the bride walked down the aisle. there is something so raw and sheerly {yep! made that word up...i think!} sweet about a groom crying at the sight of his bride and the thought of her becoming his wife. the ceremony was small {just as they wanted it}, intimate, and just the right size...it was so perfect, heartfelt, and personal.

or now they are husband and wife! six years waiting...mr. and mrs.! marriage looks good on these two! so many congratulations krystal and grant! your day was gorgeous! i hope all the memories of today flood your hearts on the rough days and make you smile when you are grey...because it was perfect...and so very "you"!! we were so excited to be a part of your special day and are so anxious to watch you grow even more together! we love you!
