taking flight...

I will put back on my event planning hat next week and begin a 5 week straight whirlwind of events...one week at a time with a new city and state each week. My arms are going to get tired from flying! So needless to say, my little lovely blog is going to be so neglected until I land back home again.

travel time

In case I have a few seams of time to myself I would love to get travel tips, tourist must-see sights, gorgeous spots, and shopping suggestions on my following stops... Hartford, CT; San Diego, CA; Manchester, NH; and Annapolis, MD. So if you live/have lived or visited any of the above and would like to share some must-see/must-dos please share!!

I do have a few suggestions of my own for travel... I am by no means a pro at flying {of course, I might should be considered one come April!}, but with my most recent travels and the money crunch of the airlines...I have formed my own tips of the trade...
  • bring an empty water bottle in your carry-on ...you can get through security since its empty, fill it at the water fountain in the terminal, avoid the overpriced drinks in the stores, and avoid the $2 charge for {unbottled} water in the air {was shocked to find this out on my last flight}!
  • i'll be bringing my own nap ...in order to avoid the $5 usage charge from the ones the airlines provide!
  • i find this works better than airb*rn
  • i'll be traveling with a pashmina ...just as warm as a scarf and large enough to be an extra blanket in flight if needed...not to mention you'll be styling!
  • bring a pair of socks in your purse if you are wearing sock-less shoes ...i ALWAYS do this so I don't have to go barefoot through security...gross!
any and all prayers for safe travels and good rest {i don't sleep well on the road!} are so very much appreciated!

Annapolis is beautiful, but I am biased from growing up there. Defiantely walk around the Naval Academy... its a beautiful campus with great views.

And if you are looking for the BEST "diner" like food go to Chick and Ruth's on Main Street. Its an adorable place open 24/7 (although I think they close now at night which is sad).

And any of the restaraunts are great for seafood. Marie's is great for Italian.

Have fun!

And although I live an hour from Hartford, I don't know what to tell you. Although West Hartford is super cute with shops and restaraunts!

have fun and safe travels!! you could make a detour and head to sf , it's way cooler than all those other places :)

In san diego head to old town. It's quite charming and so amazing mexican restaurants with fresh handmade tortillas!!

on the plane sit on one of the little pillows, it will save you from butt aches :)

A lot of people don't like Hartford, but there are some great places to visit. As far as shopping and eating, West Hartford center is awesome to walk around in, even just to window shop. (http://www.centerandsquare.com/) The Elbow Room and Bricco have great food.
The Wadsworth Atheneum is great to visit (http://www.wadsworthatheneum.org/). I love their collection of colonial furniture. The Joseloff Gallery, at my alma mater University of Hartford (http://www.joseloffgallery.org/index.html) is small but always has something interesting showing, and is free.

oh my stay safe! i'm from the san diego area!

so for shopping you could do Fashion Valley {a huge mall with fun stores} or you could always do Horton Plaza. They both are great, outside malls with yummy restaurants and stuff to do.

also, a really great place to walk around, site see and such is Balboa Park. It is so pretty, tons of museums, great gardens and so on. My friend is getting married there in May and I'm in it so I'm super excited.

Have so much fun! I'm jealous you get to do so much traveling :)
